Over 40 Years Serving the Region

1971, our organization began its work as “Our House” – a drop-in center in the City of Chula Vista for teens struggling with drug abuse, providing counseling and rehabilitation.


Staff Stationed in San Diego County

We have over 500 dedicated staff working through the region, including schools, police departments, family resource centers and affordable housing locations. Our main location is in the heart of the City of Chula Vista.


Of area residents live in poverty

16% of area residents (and 1 in 5 children) live in poverty. We believe our community is dependent on the health and well-being of all, which is why we work to provide food, shelter and health services throughout the region.

With more than 40 years of experience serving San Diego County, South Bay Community Services believes in a holistic approach to serving the most vulnerable members of our community. We provide a wide variety of services for children, youth, and families, including:

– Employment readiness
– Financial literacy services
– Mental health counseling
– Domestic violence & child abuse intervention

15,826 Bednights

Our Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter provided 15,826 bednights in one year. Over 60% transitioned directly to stable housing.
59 individuals and families in need were enrolled in our Rapid-Rehousing program. Upon end of the subsidy, 96% were successfully rehoused, putting us in the top 3 for all of San Diego County.
