Outcomes

Every year we are able to serve more children, youth and families. And we do so while also increasing outcomes. As a friend, donor, sponsor, volunteer or funder, you have given us the ability to continue to provide high quality services and new innovation programs for the communities of San Diego's South County.

Community Development

  • 2,080 food emergency food packets were distributed to low-income families
  • Financial Literacy classes served 303 participants
  • 722 federal tax returns were completed with a total of $1,061,479 in refunds 
  • 722 state tax returns were completed with a total of $68,973 in refunds
  • 380 clients were eligible for the Child Tax Credit totaling $250,937

Youth Services

  • 203 youth were provided housing and supportive services
  • 100% of youth that exited Trolley Trestle received a high school diploma or completed GED
  • 96% of the Teen Recovery Center graduates stayed substance-free for at least 3 months after graduating.
  • Community Assessment Team served 2,125 families
  • 393 children were provided mental health services
  • 56 youth found shelter at Casa Nuestra. Of these youth, 95% were reunited with their family
  • 1,016 youth received services through juvenile diversion program with 96% remaining arrest free compared to the national average of 58%

Family Wellness & Self-Sufficiency

  • Domestic Violence Reponse Team responded to 1,575 crisis intervention calls. Of these calls, 1,748 children were involved.
  • 85% of clients moved to permanent affordable housing
  • 1,400 victims were provided legal assistance and/or referred to legal assistance
  • 11 families were housed and provided support services at Victorian Heights

Child Well Being

  • Mi Escuelita served 70 children and has capacity for 90.
  • 385 families were served by Community Services for Families.  210 parents graduated from parenting classes.  89% of families served demostrated improved family functioning at six months of service.
  • 1,005 new parents in South Bay received newborn home visits
  • 2,292 children zero to five years of age received developmental screenings
  • 1,235 children five and under received hearing screenings
  • 151 at-risk home visits
