CV Libraries and SBCS – Partnering to End Hunger
Chula Vista Libraries have once again teamed up with SBCS with “Food for Fines” – a program that forgives library fines in exchange for non-perishable canned food items. All food donations will be donated to SBCS and distributed to local families in need.

Chula Vista, CA — South Bay Community Services received a $25,000 grant from HSBC Community and Philanthropic Services for North America to continue funding a financial education program called Bright Futures.

On October 1, 2011, be prepared to get swept away as SBCS puts its twist on Tropical! With a vintage flair to commemorate our 40th anniversary, we are planning an evening of glamour, rock, and entertainment. Join more than 300 business, civic and community leaders for a night to remember as we work together to raise money for victims of domestic violence and their children.
Held in the beautiful Sunset Ballroom of the Paradise Point Resort, this exciting evening will include fabulous live and silent auctions, elegant dinner, live band, dancing and more. We hope to see you there!
2011 Food Drive by Hitachi – A Success!
Each month, SBCS serves more than 3000 individuals through Emergency Food Programs alone. Hitachi chose to join this effort and help support our neighbors at this most difficult time in their lives.
Their efforts resulted in 5,786 lbs of food and nearly $2,500 in cash donations!
Sheriff’s Department Reports Significant Reduction in IB Crime in 2010
Capt. David Myers with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Imperial Beach Patrol Station presented its year-end crime report to the City Council on Wednesday evening.
“I am proud to say that in any sheriff’s jurisdiction in the county of San Diego, Imperial Beach for the past three years, especially this year, has seen the largest decrease in crime.”
